Hailed as one of the “Top 10 Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest,” the 18th Annual Fremont Oktoberfest is taking over two city blocks of Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, widely known as the “Center of the Brewniverse,” September 19-21st.  While drawing from the original Munich Oktoberfest, in true Fremont fashion, Seattle’s Fall Tradition puts its own unique “delibertas quirkas” (freedom to be peculiar) twist on tradition.

By taking over two city blocks, the Northwest’s largest Tasting Garden allows revelers to both sample from over 100 different microbrews in their 5oz mini-mugs and hoist full liter steins in the Tap House Grill Buxom Beer Garden and the Sports Bar. Dirndls and Lederhosen are not required but encouraged.

The already expansive Tasting Garden is expanding just a little bit more on Sunday, as for the first time, children are allowed to join their parents in the gated area. The family-friendly Sunday Funday entertainment features the infamous Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest, the CityDog Cover Dog Model Contest, a root beer sampling, and live music headlined by The Not-Its.

Joining in on the Sunday fun, the Fremont Oktoberfest 5K, known as the Ultimate Beer Run, allows runners to compete alone or in teams for running glory and more importantly, a finish-line beer.

In the spirit of the ever-expanding Tasting Garden, Fremont Oktoberfest is bulking up its ticket packages. From now until September 1st, Oktoberfest revelers will receive FIVE extra tasting tokens with the purchase of Grand Admission or General Admission. Tickets and 5K race registration are on sale now at www.fremontoktoberfest.strangertickets.com.

Friday and Saturday at Fremont Oktoberfest is strictly 21+ only. Guests under 21 are welcome to attend on Sunday for free when accompanied with a paying adult.

Fremont Oktoberfest is a benefit for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, funding local schools, art groups, community events, and promoting Fremont as the “Center of the Universe.”See www.fremont.com.
